Wezel: Retro Phone
Questions, problems, privacy requests and reports of abuse all go to one address:
Reports of abuse are acted on within 24 hours. Everything else is answered within a few days. Please tell us your phone number on the network and what happened.
We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. Every report is read and acted on within 24 hours: the content is removed and the user who sent it is ejected.
- In the app: open the message, then Options → Report. The network keeps a copy of the message for us and blocks the sender. Messages from the AI lines can be reported the same way.
- By email: write to support@wezel.ai with the number that contacted you, roughly when, and what was said. Use this for abusive calls, which leave nothing to report in the app.
Block a number
- From a message: Options → Block number.
- From the call register: choose the entry, then Block number.
- A blocked number cannot call or text you. To undo it, go to Settings → Blocked numbers.
The AI lines
The Operator on 100 and the Chatline on 8008 are answered by AI. To allow or stop them, go to Settings → AI lines. While they are stopped, nothing you say or text to them reaches an AI provider, and a call to 100 says "AI lines are off". The Privacy Policy says where your words go.
Delete your account
Go to Settings → Delete account, confirm, and sign in with Apple once more. Your number, phone book, settings and every message you sent are erased. You can also ask us by email.
Good to know
- Wezel: Retro Phone is not a telephone service. It reaches only other people using the app, and it cannot call emergency services.
- Like a 1999 network, a text takes between 15 seconds and 2 minutes to arrive, and now and then one is lost.
- To try messages on your own, send anything to 1999, the echo line. It sends it back.
